Hurry up and blog so that we can play our nightly ritual of… Wordle. Whoever finishes first wins UNLESS the other person gets the word in less guesses.

The decision to wake up about an hour before our live online workouts with Marnie Alton (M/Body) was a mix of snooze buttons and being too comfy in “the nook”. You know, the comfy spot when you and your cuddle partner are perfectly one together in the best snuggle position too good to get out of bed for at least another 30 minutes.

If it wasn’t for Michael’s motivating force in the morning, I would probably lie in bed and stare at the wall or my phone for a couple of hours and slack on stuff, but he gets things going most of the time. He prepares the coffee at night, pulls out the meditation pillows and gets the incense and candles going, then after coffee, rolls out the yoga mats and gets that set up too. He spoils me like that. (He’s currently doing the dishes and getting the coffee ready as we speak). I know!! What did I do to get so lucky? I must have done something good somewhere along the line.

So Marnie kicked our asses for an hour and we didn’t even have to see people in person or talk to anyone else except ourselves. Her signature workout is a mix of aerobics, physical therapy, pilates, yoga, and barre with uplifting positive coaching throughout. A great supportive community of peeps. We are in the middle of a 60 day challenge called The Summer of Strong. We’ve altered it a bit to fit our schedule to 30 online workouts in 60 days. This ritual along with morning meditations seems to start the day in a way that helps us stay less bitchy and more mindful throughout the day. Moving in a fun way gets the blood pumping and giggles going with each other which feels good even if I tend to start out sluggish. I usually feel better afterward and I’m so impressed that Michael can sit cross legged (almost comfortably) again which is awesome!

After showering and drinking more coffee and throwing in a load of laundry, I worked on the video for Betwixt Fear and High Key taking breaks to eat and practice drums. Michael played a long with me while I practiced my rudiments. Playing solo drums is kinda blah for me at this level, so anytime I get a chance to play with Michael, I do it! My favorite thing is learning new songs and playing with him on bass. We’ve written some funny songs with this sort of practice. Today, we worked on Cherry POP! I’m starting to learn how to sing a long with the weird bossa nova beat. It aint easy! It’s not the original Girl From Imponeona bossa nova that I learned from my instructor. Michael came up with this one. He actually did most of the drums for Cherry POP! The part that sounds like a horse running.-I am proud to say that I definitely did that part and I did the announcer in the background. Michael slowed my voice down and we put some weird effect on it. I still get a kick that that’s my voice.

It would be ideal to have a drummer, but I like the challenge of playing and singing for now. and practicing rudiments will always be good for whatever instrument I am playing.

Practice. Practice. Practice. AND Rudiments every day.

Leaving the apartment today was not in the cards for me because I enjoy being a slave to my craft. Having doubts if the video will be done by Monday because I only finished 15 more seconds. That’s about 1 minute in a total of about 3 full days of work. The song is 4:07 so if I do my math correctly, it will take about 9 days. However, I have gotten faster with the program and learning new tricks along the way. I am guessing at this rate (if I don’t have to sit jury duty which I am scheduled for next week or have to look at houses), I am re-evaluating and thinking by Friday realistically would be the goal. Still pushing for Monday. Reach for the stars and get to the moon! The moon is pretty cool too.

Shifting goals and re-evaluating. Proud of the work accomplished.

Working on a Saturday made me feel like a hyper focused bad ass. I got to do most of it from my “comfy kitchen couch”. To be paid to work like this from home or remotely would be a dream.

Michael packed a lot of boxes today. The music video and packing feel the same kind of way. Looking at all the boxes packed and taped up and then noticing how much more there is to go.

We did what we could and I had to share with somebody!! My 19 yr old niece got sent a little snipit of the vid via text. She and my friend loved it and my sister cried. I’ll take it as a sign that I’m on the right track. I keep wanting to show Michael, but he says he wants to wait. I hope he isn’t waiting forever and I hope that I don’t build it up too much. It’s a cute little video about how when Michael and I met so it’s fun to remember those times and how exciting it all was. It still is!

Michael continues to remind me, “Every moment is the universe”.

I know! I’m obsessed with my boyfriend! I can’t help it!

I hope everyone gets this kind of love in life.

We wrapped up the evening with Michael’s famous Ramen just the way I like it while watching our favorite show (The first show we ever watched together!) It’s a K-Drama called, Because This Is My First Life. It is streaming on Netflix and if you haven’t seen it and like cute shows and don’t mind reading subtitles, watch it! Michael gets choked up a lot. I guess I do too.

Life stuff can be so sweet.
